UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE FINEST RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THIS CLASSIC AIR POST RARITY—QUITE POSSIBLY THE FINEST.

Of the 200 stamps overprinted, 18 were damaged or destroyed, 95 were used to frank covers carried by Lieutenant H. Hawker on his Trans-Atlantic flight and 11 were given as presentation copies. The remaining 76 were sold in aid of the Marine Disaster Fund.
