1324 236 var. image1893, Columbian, 8¢ magenta, interesting offset variety (Scott 236 var.), o.g., very lightly hinged, wonderful example of what had always been known as a great philatelic rarity, but now is little more than a interesting footnote; printed on both sides used to be the way this stamp had always been marketed; not anymore, as the expert's have decided to devalue this popular issue; in any event this stamp is an eye catching showpiece that would enhance any collection, Fine to Very Fine, with 1977 P.F. certificate specifically describing this stamp as "printed on both sides".
