500 o 3 imageCanada, 1851, Queen Victoria, 12d black, laid paper (Scott 3), a gorgeous example with exceptionally large, beautifully balanced margins and a marvelous strike of the 4-ring numeral "47" of Three Rivers, C.E.; additionally, the stamp has a strong re-entry, especially evident along the right side where there is clear doubling of the entire design, including both "2"s; unfortunately, the stamp has been "extensively repaired" per the accompanying certificate, though very skillfully so, Extremely Fine appearance, with 1987 R.P.S. certificate.
