2801 EP   imageIndian States: Ali Rajpur, Revenues, 1932, Raja Pratap Singh, 1a General Revenue, interesting historical archive consisting of 1.) a typed transcription of a letter from the printer to authorities in Ali-Rajpur detailing the production history of the stamp; 2.) the original design concept in pencil submitted to the printer by the Dewan, which included the "old stamp" which was being replaced; 3.) a stamp-size photographic reduction and mock-up of an artist's drawing dated "3.3.22"; 4.) a die-proof of the finished design in rose-carmine on glazed card dated "25th May 1922"; and 5.) a copy of the issued stamp in ultramarine affixed to piece of card with manuscript inscription "80 Sel., June 1922" and "Prid. on Coated Paper", Very Fine. A unique set.
