1041 43 imageGreat Britain, 1864, Queen Victoria line-engraved, 1d rose red, letters in all four corners (SG 43), impressive mint group of 71 different plate numbers (also Indian Convention States plate 118 with a lightened pen cancel), nearly all have o.g. (at least three are never hinged) and, while there are a few small faults here and there, the vast majority are Fine. A nice start on the road to acquiring all 152 plate numbers, a task that is not often attempted with mint stamps.

1042 S G5s imageGreat Britain, 1860, 1½d rosy mauve on bluish, unissued, overprinted "Specimen" type 6 (SG 53a), unused without gum, good color; bottom perfs mostly missing, otherwise Fine. The only way most collectors will be able to fill this space in their collections.

1043 54 imageGreat Britain, 1847, Queen Victoria (embossed), 1s pale green (SG 54), horizontal pair with full lower left corner sheet margin, used with 1841 1d red brown (3), all canceled "466" barred ovals on folded letter from Liverpool to New York, red embossed cameo-style corner card for Sylvester L. Samuel, American Clock Importer & Watch Manufacturer, U.S. "Paid" ties 1s pair, light "10/Cents" credit handstamp, postmarked Liverpool circular datestamp, 22 Nov, 1853 on reverse, along with oval "L/A" oval of the same date, both in green; in addition to the two sheet margins, the pair also has a nice margin at right, but is cut just in at top and has corner creases in the top corners; the 1d has four excellent margins, Very Fine, an exceptional cover.
