2391 4 imageHawaii, 1851-52, 13¢ blue "Missionary" (Scott 4), Crocker type II, tied to small piece, partial red San Francisco accounting mark 8 in circle and seven bar "Jupiter" cancel, incredibly sharp and bright color and impression within nice margins around except at bottom left corner where it was irregularly cut from its adjoining stamps (small corner notch) before being affixed to this piece. These stamps were printed on a very fragile paper whose very nature nearly always dictates imperfections which has escaped this example; margins on three sides and is just clear along the top, Fine to Very Fine, with 2016 P.S.E. certificate, 1987 Peter Holcombe Certificate, 1987 Enzo Diena certificate, each stating without defects.
Scott $35,000 for repaired/defective.
