806 /o   Europe (Western), Collector's Duplicates Accumulation, 1850-1980. About a couple of thousand mint and used stamps on old album pages and manila stock pages. We did spot some better used items including Austria-Lombardy and Venetia 1c, 3, 6b, 9 & 12, plus Switzerland 77 & 78. Altogether, countries include Austria-Lombardy and Venetia ($1420), Italy ($2013), Luxembourg ($866) & Switzerland ($2472) plus several other smaller country groups. Generally, value is concentrated in 19th century issues. Perhaps the best feature of this stock is that the owner laboriously identified every item by Scott number and value on a small paper tag. So, all the hard work is already done. Owner's catalog value $9,000, Fine to Very Fine.

In four Scott albums with value concentrated in the Guatemala section, which is virtually complete and includes many desirable sets and singles such as 1871 (3a, imperforate pair), 1873 (6, unused, no gum), 1881 2¢ Quetzal (22a, mint, inverted center), followed by the 1886 lithographed set, and then by the 1894 surcharges, including the scarce 10¢ on 75¢ blue-black surcharge accompanied with BPA certificate, 1897 Central American Exposition (60-73, including 75¢ & 150¢ mint stamps), 1898 Surcharges, plus all provisionals issued in the 1901-22 period, including 1909 (137), 1922 (182) & 1922 (191 & 191a-c). The Ubico years with all the good regular and airmail sets: 1937 (280-91), 1935-37 (C32-46), 1935-37 (C47-69), 1937 (C70-79) & 1937 (C80-91). We also noted some unusual items: 2¢ Fray Payo & 3¢ Pepe Batres imperforate blocks of sixs, plus a wealth of modern sets, souvenir sheets and unchecked perfin officials. Costa Rica includes 1863 set, 1881-82 surcharges, followed by several regular and airmail sets; Honduras section with modest sets and part sets; Nicaragua with 1862-1957 issues, including several early sets, plus airmails, officials and postal tax examples; Panama with a fair number of fresh sets issued in the 1930s-60s period. Additional album with some Cuba & Dominican Republic stamps. Great for anyone collecting Guatemala or for a dealer with the time to break it down to its best advantage, Fine to Very Fine.

816 /o   Middle East, Collector's Duplicates Stock, 1870-1970. Mint and used stamps arranged on manila stock pages and housed in six binders. The two best countries are Afghanistan & Egypt. The Afghan stock is composed of mint topical sets and souvenir sheets of the 1960s while Egypt is mostly used stamps starting with a smattering of 19th century issues and strength in the 1950s-1960s. The Turkey stock is similar to Egypt except that coverage is rather sparse. Other countries include Iran & Iraq plus some Gulf States of Dubai and Qatar. Well worth a quick review, Fine to Very Fine.
