705   imageRussia, Railway Post Office Cancels, 1882-1935. Collection of about 120 cards or covers, the majority being picture postcards from the from the first 15 years of the 20th century; includes an excellent range of markings, all mounted one-to-a-page with a color photocopy of the reverse and all pertinent markings identified and accompanied by tracings; mostly domestic usages (four are 1932-38 Latvian cards/covers), but about 20 are to foreign destinations, primarily in Europe, though one is from Irkutsk, Siberia to Shanghai, China. While there is nothing rare here, a similar collection would take many years to duplicate, the whole being worth much more than the sum of its parts.

In ten Schaubek hingeless albums with slipcases, and starting with a few earlies but value concentrated in the abundant amount of sets issued in the 1930s-90s period. We noted some better such as 1935 Spartacist set (559-68, mint) & 1948 (1280-83), plus several souvenir sheets. Highly complete in mint or never hinged condition from 1953 to 1996, including a wealth of topical sets. A good occasion at our estimate, to buy a nice holding of this popular country, and that can easily be used to form the foundation for a great collection, Fine to Very Fine.
