Nicaragua 15¢ on 25¢, 20¢ on 25¢ & 50¢ airmails (C5, C7 x2 & C8 x2) tied on front by multiple May 15, 1930 rectangular datestamps, plus three additional stamps on reverse tied by circular datestamps, United States $1.30 airmail (C14) tied by Lakehurst May 27, 1930 duplex postmark, adjacent red German & violet U.S. zeppelin cachets, backstamped with transit & receiving markings; envelope with trivial edge folds not affecting stamps, Fine to Very Fine, exceptionally rare with Sieger reporting only eleven mixed franking items flown, this being one of only six covers with the $1.30 Zeppelin stamp., signed Diena & Savini.

The full text of the Postal Convention signed between Peru & Great Britain on August 13, 1851 was published by A. Linz in The Stamp Specialist Mahogany Book (1947), pages 117-28. The relevant article 14 stated "for all letters which may be forwarded to or from Peru, whether by British packets or by private ships, whatever may be the destination of such letters, inland postage shall be paid in the post offices of Peru according to a rate not exceeding that now established in the Republic for inland letters…." The local rate of postage charged was 1r. In 1858 this rate became 1 dinero. The cover was carried by steamer to Panama and then to London. From January 1, 1870 the British packet rate to England from the west coast of South America had been reduced from 2sh to 1sh6d per 1/2oz.
