1552   image1936 (Dec 23), The Daedalus Mishap. The plane bounced on take off at Abecher, damaging its engine, undercarriage and lower wing. The mail was transferred to another aircraft which had to make a forced landing in the bush. A second aircraft, Delia, finally picked up the mail and flew it to Kano. This cover, England - Nigeria, posted 15 Dec, is one of only two known, Very Fine.

1569 65//Q12 imageU.S., Plate Number Single Collection, 1861-1940's (65//Q12). Impressive appearing collection of mostly plate number singles neatly presented in a Scott National album, although some of the more expensive stamps are stuck down in their mounts, there is considerable value contained in these pages, including excellent Washington Franklins, 340 x (2), and 341, 505 error in combination pair, and even a 547 plate single; 1922 flats include two examples of 572, there's numerous 1920's issues including a scarcer set of 1929 Kansas Nebraska complete 658-79; the 1938 Presidentials complete including some plate number pairs of the high values; Back of the book include C2-4, plus two C18's, a nice group of Special Delivery issues, and a nearly complete set of 1912 Parcel Post Issues Q1-4, and Q6-12; a very pleasing appearing collection with considerable value; too bad it was kept in a humid environment.

An exciting all mint old time collection mounted in a Scott Single, Block and Plate Block album, starts with 230-240, 285-290, 294-299, inscription and plate number strips of four 294-295, 323-327, White Plains sheet, 2¢ reds with singles and blocks of four, Washington Bicentennial with singles, blocks of four and plate blocks, and a nice group of Farleys with blocks, gutter blocks, centerline and arrow blocks, a grouping that is begging to be split up into individual lots, one word of caution, the mounts are not the best, so inspection is strongly suggested, Fine to Very Fine.
