1941 airmail to "2nd NZEF, Middle East Forces" with Pictorials 9d tied 'ST. KILDA/-1DE41' cds, censored with tape & cachet, endorsed "POW" in blue pencil with 'Prisoner of War' cachet in violet on face, returned & resealed with 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE NZ' label after being opened to locate sender, a few edge faults. Cpl John Joseph Anderson was captured on 2.1.1942 in the Western Desert as part of the Allied campaign to take Libya.

REVENUES: 1911-15 'Stamp Duty.' Overprint on Monocolours 1d pink 'JBC' Monogram block of 6 (2x3) with the Overprint Significantly Misplaced Upwards to Appear at the Base of the upper four units and Omitted from the lower two units, well centred, the two setenant pairs very lightly mounted. Ex Evan Gill & Thomas Belknap. RPSofL (1987) & Chris Ceremuga (2008) Certificates. The latter states "...Great rarity...An amazing case...showing postage and revenue stamps se-tenant!"

Salamaua: Romney Gibbons cover to Victoria with 3d purple-brown tied by a largely fine strike of the rare 'SALAMAUA/19JA46/PAPUA-NEW GUINEA' cds - with another superb strikes alongside. The post office at Salamaua re-opened 14.1.1946 & was closed on 16.4.1946. The cds is generally regarded as the rarest post-WWII PNG datestamp. [Acquired at the Prestige auction of 11.5.2012 for $932]

- Salamaua: philatelic cover to Victoria with ½d 2d & 6d tied by two fine to very fine strikes of the rare 'SALAMAUA/ 6FE46/PAPUA-NEW GUINEA' cds - with another very fine strike on the reverse, 'SALAMAUA' red & black/white registration label number '10', 'No7 AUST BASE PO/ A ' & Melbourne transit & Hawthorn arrival backstamps. One of the great rarities of PNG philately. Ex John McNabb: acquired at the Prestige auction of 12.10.2012 for $5592. Very few registered covers are believed to exist & a loose RL '13' is the highest number recorded.
