This year’s sale features:
Several U.S. Possessions (Canal Zone, Guam, Hawaii, and US
Administration Philippine Islands, Puerto Rico, and Ryukyu Is.) lots. These
include used and unused stamps, as well as covers. Among the other Extinct
Issuers are Australian States, and a large section of British North America
(British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia). There are
a few Pre-Independence Indian lots, as well. All of these merit study, as
there is considerable variety represented.
Latin America including several lots from Mexico, Nicaragua, and
Brazil.
The U.S.A section is interesting for its variety. There are several
stationery lots, with postmarks from 1894 to 1966; unused stationery is
also included. Scott Catalogue numbers run from #8 to #1898, a few
airmails, and U227 to U579, as well as one postage due.
Other countries of the world offered in this sale include Armenia,
Austria, Australia, Bermuda, British Guiana, British Honduras, Canada,
Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Japan (several lots), New Zealand, Spain, and
Sweden.
There are two lots of mixed countries, one off-paper, and one on-paper.
This year’s coins are all Liberty Head nickels. Values run from $39 to
$550.
The Fine Art lot consists of three 20” x 28” ink on paper (possibly
lithograph) line drawings. They represent the Shogun’s palace in Kyoto: his
residence, a landscape of the grounds, and a warehouse.
