2190 /o/    46-56 imageMexico, 1868, Hidalgo Thin Figures Issue Collection. Of over 540 stamps with a Follansbee catalog value of over $20,000 plus 23 covers and three sello negros of the period, about 70 are unused representing about a quarter of the catalog value including 50c from Mexico, Guadalajara, Colima, Zacatecas and "41" (number originally assigned to Tacubaya), as well as 100c Mexico '68 & '69 and Monterrey, used including many stamps cataloging in excess of $100 including 100c browns of Colima, Mazatlan and Acapulco (couple have unobtrusive flaws) and such scarce as 50c Cordova, Aguascalientes and Tlaxcala (thin), and 100c Cordova, Ures, Tixtla and Huejutla, a 25c Tabasco pair (imperf) cancelled Teapa is impressive, altogether 40 districts are represented and there are a great many sub-office cancels present, few error numbers will be found; some small flaws as usual but generally the condition is well above the norm, generally F.-V.F. or better. Massive six volume assembly of approximately 1,680 stamps with a Follansbee catalog value of over $12,500 plus 129 covers and five sello negros of the period, all districts well represented, over 725 stamps and many of the covers bear sub-office cancels, some quite rare which add greatly to the value of the collection, also including some proofs, errors of numbers and other varieties, in some ways the '68s are the most interesting of the Mexican classics - here is an unusual and grand opportunity to dive into a project that could keep one happily occupied for decades, generally F.-V.F.
