3263   imageElliot Perry - Stanley Ashbrook Correspondence, 1917-57. A remarkable correspondence from Elliot Perry (Perry's copies (early ones on fragile copy paper) of letters sent to Ashbrook) to Stanley Ashbrook over the course of 40 years, includes signed return letters from Ashbrook; 100's of letter discussing most major topic of U.S. classic philately including Ashbrooks' One Cent & Ten books and related plating discussions, remarks on various notable philatelist and collector's of the day including Senator Ackerman and H.B. Phillips of San Francisco, stamp receipts, publishing in Pats Paragraphs, report on August usages of the 1861 issues and the "Premieres", an uncorrected version of Ashbrooks article "The Twenty-four Cents Violet of 1861" sent to Perry for peer review, and a vast array of other subject far to copious to mention here; a truly fascinating correspondence between two of the most prominent philatelist of the day.
