Cover was sent via Adams Express by ship via Panama to New York, then by railroad to Chicago by Adams Eastern Express, George Smith & Co., Adams' Chicago agent turned over to Burbank & Fawcette for railroad and stagecoach service to Mt. Carroll, Illinois.
