R. Maresch & Son Auctions Ltd. Sale - 538

Public Auction - September 26-27, 2017

We have just completed our first-ever ‘Internet-only’ auction, of Maresch material, including many individual better items as well as stamps, varieties or covers in the $10 to $100 range. It was enthusiastically received and many of you were able to add some desirable and elusive items to your collection, therefore, we are planning another Internet-only sale for the late fall. We’ve also been busy finalizing our next public unreserved auction sale, to be held in the last week of September, and here it is. Consignments for this sale came in from dozens of different owners and estates, and the 1600+ lots represent stamps and covers from the four corners of the world. The shelves are full again and there are so many large lots to look at that we suggest leaving extra time to view. Session one starts on Tuesday September 26th at 6:30 pm with Canada from large lots to the Admiral issues with better sections of Pence issues, Jubilees, etc., with many singles and sets being never hinged and very fine or better. The second session starts Wednesday September 27th at 1:00 pm with Canada 1917 Confederation on including modern varieties, Postage Dues, Revenues, better New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland stamps, Postal history, and stamped covers. It concludes with Great Britain and British Commonwealth with many single stamps and sets as well as country collections and larger lots. The last session is Wednesday evening beginning at 6:30pm and contains all worldwide material, beginning with a massive selection of larger lots including dealer stocks and complete collections right up to huge intact properties as received. Cartons kept arriving by the dozens, and our lotting staff struggled to keep up but finally succeeded in getting everything done. There are also Topicals, covers, better China, a good showing of USA stamps and covers, etc., and all sections contain many better individual items and sets. You will notice in your printed catalogue that certain lots have been designated ‘photo online’. These images can be viewed by going to www.maresch.com and following the sale link or by going directly to https://stampauctionnetwork. com/rm/rm538.cfm. If you log into Stamp Auction Network (SAN) and register, you can also bid online up to 1 hour before the session begins and watch the bidding in progress on the lots you’re interested in. As usual, we’d like to encourage everyone to send their bids to us through SAN or by email, as they reach us immediately and there are no delays in the mail. This will be the final auction to be held here at 6075 Yonge St, a location which has served us well for the past 15 years. The area has become increasingly congested, and we have outgrown the premises. On September 30th, our offices and auction gallery are moving to a larger and much more accessible location which will help us better attend to our customers’ needs. As always, all bidding on this auction will continue to be accepted by telephone (our phone number is the same), by email or on-line. Please note that if you were successful in obtaining lots in this auction your lots will be shipped to you as usual. However, if you wish to pick them up they will be available at the Yonge St. location until 5pm September 29th. As of October 2nd, your lots will be available for pickup at our new location (which offers ample room and plenty of convenient parking), only a short drive north of Toronto. Please send any payments or correspondence to the address below. OUR NEW ADDRESS (AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2017) IS 6–2 VATA COURT, AURORA ON L4G 4B6 CANADA We are always looking for consignments for our public auctions, and we are only a phone call away. Please use our convenient toll-free consignment hotline at 1-800-363-0777 to discuss any future plans you may have for selling your collection. We are willing to travel to inspect and pick up worthwhile consignments, and we offer competitive fees and commission rates as well as our combined centuries of lotting and marketing expertise to all of our customers. We look forward to hearing from you. The R, Maresch & Son Team. A family-run firm helping philatelists since 1924.
