Ephemera -- Scott #R15 stamp on 1869 Boston & Lowell and Nashua & Lowell railroad receipt Great railroad memorabilia. Receipt in like-new condition. Looks like receipt was for a car of sheep transported from Bradford New Hampshire at a cost of $39.44. The Boston and Lowell Railroad is a historic railroad that operated in Massachusetts in the United States. It was one of the first railroads in North America and the first major one in the state. The line later operated as part of the Boston and Maine Railroad's Southern Division. (Image1)

Ephemera -- Swedish National Sanatorium, Denver Colorado, Cinderella stamp on postcard In the early 1900s, it was estimated that one-third to one-half of the population of Denver had tuberculosis. Swedish Medical Center was originally a consumptive organization formed by the Swedish immigrants in the area. These Cinderella stamps were used to raise funds and create awareness. This one was placed in a normal stamp position on a postcard, but did not go through the mails. Interesting piece of ephemera. (Image1)

Ephemera -- Circa 1927 flight certificate In the early days of flight it was common for barnstorming pilots to take passengers on sightseeing flights for a fee. The Potomac Flying Service took over 25,000 passengers for sightseeing flights over the City of Washington by 1928. A souvenir card was provided. This card is made out to Mary L. Ephemera -- 1921 Hamburg-America Line ticket from Philadelphia to Hamburg Superior and desirable maritime ephemera. Steamer Mt. Clay full third class outward passage contract ticket with a cost of $125 plus $5 war tax revenue fee (R244 $5 revenue stamp attached). Other than folds, and a small punch mark at top left. Item considered in excellent condition. The "Mount Clay" was built in 1904 as the "Prinz Eitel Friedrich" for Norddeutscher Lloyd [North German Lloyd]. She accommodated 1,300-3rd class passengers. She was seized in Philadelphia by the US government when America entered WWI. In 1920, she was joined the United American Lines and renamed "Mount Clay". On 26/12/1920 she resumed transporting passengers between the US and Germany. (Image1)
