2122 cover   image1910 (August 18), “Nantes Aviation” flight label tied to Aviation Week cover, small envelope franked with France 4c Sage and two 3c Blanc definitives, alongside 10c “Nantes Aviation Août 1910” vignette, all tied by three neat “Nantes / Loire-Inférieure” c.d.s. strikes, no backstamps, issued for the Semaine d’Aviation de Nantes (14–21 August 1910) and widely regarded as the first non-official airmail stamp, only 9,800 believed printed and comparatively few surviving, labels were typically affixed at the airfield without postal cancellation, this tied example thus particularly desirable, very fine. Joachim Ernesti Comitis" representing Count Joachim Ernst of Oettingen (1612–1659), who ruled the Oettingen-Oettingen line of Franconian-Swabian nobility in the turbulent aftermath of the Thirty Years’ War, the contents regarding government administration, trivial edge marks in places, else remarkably fresh and very fine. 2129 cover   imageHoly Roman Empire, 1688 (September 2), Burghaslach, Franconia, folded official correspondence with red wax armorial seal, written in chancery-style German with flowing calligraphic script and local officials’ signatures, the address panel showing contemporary manuscript accounting figures and a circular 3 possibly representing a due fee, the reverse retaining a well-preserved red wax seal applied over the wrapper and showing clear armorial detail , Burghaslach at this time forming part of the Franconian Imperial Circle on the important route linking Nuremberg and Würzburg, the letter produced at the outset of the Nine Years’ War (1688–1697) when the Empire entered the Grand Alliance against Louis XIV, a lovely and fresh letter, very fine. 2130 cover   image1784 (August 28), pre-stamp folded lettersheet from Carlsruhe (Karlsruhe) to Liège, struck with scarce straight-line "DE CRUHE" origin handstamp, a late 18th-century postal abbreviation for the city, addressed in formal nobiliary style to Caesar Constantin Franz von Hoensbroech, Prince-Bishop of Liège, central filing fold and minor edge wear with small loss where seal was removed, fine.

The letter is signed by Charles Frederick, Margrave of Baden (later the first Grand Duke of Baden), and details a jurisdictional conflict with the Imperial Knights of Swabia over the territory of Gemmingen, which Charles Frederick asserts as a Baden fief. The letter, written by Baron Karl von Schauroth, a Lieutenant Colonel in the service of the King of Bavaria, is a formal instruction to the prominent merchant house of Frederick Huth & Co. to forward an enclosure to "Buenos-Ayres" at the "first occasion." Written by crew member "Fritz," the message is an eyewitness naval report from the opening phase of the Rebellion, stating bluntly "we have war" and recording casualties from the Taku Forts bombardment five days earlier, with seven dead aboard SMS Iltis and her commander Captain Lans wounded, his left leg shot off, further noting the Gefion anchored at Chefoo only briefly before returning to the fighting at Taku.
