490 CVR CL30f var imageMay 27 1929 Sioux Lookout to Red Lake Cover with CL30f Variety, on front (with inverted overprint in green), tied by a MAY.27.1929 Sioux Lookout c.d.s., alongside a 2c green KGV Scroll issue tied by same day Sioux Lookout duplex. Back has a Red Lake MAY.30 green c.d.s., alongside a Sioux Lookout MAY.31 receiver. Back also shows a purple Western Canada Airways Ltd. handstamp cachet. Presumably they were still accepting the former carriers' stamps in lieu of their own. Very fine. Inverted overprints for this stamp on cover are uncatalogued by Unitrade, which gives a value of $200 for inverted overprinted stamps, as opposed to $75 for regular overprinted stamps, so about 2.6 times. Using the same ratio applied to the on-cover value of $300 for regular stamps, this would make for a value of $780. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)
