1391 og/nh United Nations Mint Collection in Eleven Volumes, 1951 to 2003, with a mix of hinged and never hinged in singles, blocks, corner blocks, plate blocks, souvenir sheets (incl #38), sheetlets, booklets and more, mostly all in mounts on Minkus or White Ace or similar pages, from all of the offices. There appears to be two distinct collections, so a little duplication is to be expected, but probably near complete in period. We note a complete sheet #857a (cat. $200), most, if not all of the booklets issued in the 1990s, and a few other goodies. 1397 O/og/nh United States Mostly Mint Never Hinged Collection in Four Lighthouse Albums, 1887 to 2010, with pages to 2013. We note many mint and used stamps up to 1915 and mint only from 1919 to 2010. A spot check of a few dozen mint stamps revealed that the collection appears never hinged from the mid-1940s to the end. Appears complete (as per Lighthouse pages) from 1935 to the mid-1990s, missing mostly only souvenir sheets after that (although many are included). We note coils, booklets, souvenir sheets, sheetlets, se-tenant sets and much more. The back of the book is better than average, all mint with many never hinged (even in the early issues), etc. A very nice and clean collection, with a huge catalogue value, and just waiting for someone to add the few missing stamps here and there. Overall fine or better and we recommend viewing to better appreciate the completeness, value and freshness of this collection. Est $ 1,000

Also a second, similar collection in two binders. Both collections include good back of the book, revenues and more. We also note a used collection in a stockbook, a box with never opened new issues in plate blocks from the 1990s, etc. Also note a newspaper front and back page from FEB.23.1946 with the headline "Gen. Yamashita Hanged by U.S." with his picture, franked with a Scott 823 and 933 (both tied by a lovely Grand Central Station datestamp), mailed registered to an address in New York City. 1402 O/og US Confederate States imageMint and Used Collection in a White Ace Album, 1861 to 1865, with singles, blocks, corner blocks, on piece (with nice cancels) and a cover (mailed from Paducah, Kentucky on an embossed "US Sanitary Commission Soldiers Mail"). Most of the mint stamps have gum (which may or may not be original) and we have counted the catalogue value for all unused and assumed genuine stamps. A nice collection for the specialist. We have scanned all the pages online. Also includes a set of six Confederate States of America bills ($1 to $100) which were reproduced (quite faithfully) in the 1960s, as well as a group of 17 uncirculated USA $2 bills, including an uncut strip of three. 1403 og/nh Vatican imageMint Collection and Stock, 1933 to 2001 in a large stockbook, two smaller stockbooks and a box containing glassines. There is a mix of hinged and never hinged in the early period, then mostly never hinged after that. Many of the stamps in the two smaller stockbooks and glassines were purchased in the Vatican by the owner, between the 1970s and 2001, often in pairs or blocks and often with several copies of souvenir sheets. Good variety of different sets and souvenir sheets, many of the early never hinged were counted as hinged. Very nice overall quality, very fine. (Scan a) Scott $ 5,202

1404 O Vatican imageCollection of Used, Plus Stock, the collection is in an old spring back album, and spans 1929 to about 1970 and is close to complete, including back of the book. Catalogue value for this is $1,503. Also included are two stockbooks containing just under 2,000 stamps (with duplication of up to a dozen or more of some) mostly from the 1960s to the 1980s. Also a nice collection on pages, showing singles, pairs and some larger blocks of most issues between 1970 and 1979. Last but not least is a box containing many glassines full of singles and blocks, as well as a few souvenir items, a souvenir booklet from 1950 contains three coins and stamps of the era. Finally we include four books Vatican Stamps (Ernest Kehr, 1956), Roman States and Vatican City (Bolaffi 1959 and 1976) and Vatican (National Philatelic Museum).
