1866 (June 22) Entire letter with large green cachet "K.K 18tes INFTR. REGIMENTS / ERGAENZUNGSBEZIRKS COMANDO" and a Prag c.d.s, to Koniggratz with arrival backstamp (June 23), received ten days before the Battle of Koniggratz which ended the seven week Austro-Prussian War.

1867-2002 Mint collection in nine albums or stockbooks and loose including 1867 50k brownish rose and 50k brown, 1908 set (additional 10k shade), 1910 Birthday set, 1931 Rotary set, 1933 Ski Championship set, 1950-53 Air set, all 1972-2002 issues unmounted, also Post Offices in Turkey, military issues, postage dues, newspaper stamps, an album of Bosnia Herzegovina, etc. (1,000s).

1886-1994 Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi, mint and used collection in two albums including 1915 booklet panes (4), 1937 booklet panes (8), 1942-43 imperf proofs (19) and miniature sheets set of eight (additional 2f.50 sheet, also Ruanda-Urundi 25c sheet), 1916 "RUANDA" and "URUNDI" handstamped overprints (15, not guaranteed), some covers and cards (c.47), etc. (100s).

1924 10f Grey-black African Elephant stamp, Belgian Congo blocks of six, ten (3 blocks) or twelve (2 blocks), and Ruanda-Urundi blocks of ten (2 blocks) and twelve, all overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red with a small punch hole, three blocks with red handstamp "Return to / RECORD & SPECIMEN DEPT". Also 1961-66 souvenir cards or cancels from the Borgerhoutse Stamp Club, named after the designer of these stamps Emile Vloors, all with the elephant logo. (100).

1701-1859 Prestamp and stampless entire letters, various town handstamps, a few ingoing letters, also two 1687-90 letters from Cadiz or Paris to St. Malo. (26).

French Occupation. 1794-1814 Entire letters sent during the French Occupation of Belgium all with town handstamps with Department numbers 86, 87 or 91-97, two with the scarce Bonnet of Liberty over "P.P" handstamp, written up on album pages. (34).

1944 Lion Rampant definitives including 1f handpainted essay from the Waterlow archives, imperf proof blocks of eight with punch holes (31 blocks, several with marginal endorsement, also 31 single proofs), perforated 5f single and block of eight with punch holes, both sets of sixteen in imperf proof pairs (two extra pairs), etc, also 1945 railway parcel 6f imperf proof pair. c.1820 Entire from Philadelphia to Newbern, North Carolina charged 25c, red circular "PHIL" datestamp, redirected to St. Georges, Bermuda, reverse with manuscript "Forwarded by your obdnt servant John Spencer West", an early forwarded letter to Bermuda.

1850 (Dec 6) Entire from the Wesleyan Missionary Thomas Smith, to the Missionary Society in London, backstamped red "ST GEORGES / BERMUDA" datestamp (PM5) and in London, charged 1/-, light file folds, otherwise fine. Ex. Osborn.

1862 (Dec 26) Stampless cover (with enclosed letter) to England handstamped red "6d" and "PAID / AT / IRELAND ISLE BERMUDA" crowned circle, backstamped "IRELAND-ISLE / BERMUDA" datestamp (PM5 in black) and in London. 1864 (June 11) Stampless double rate cover to New York prepaid 8d (initially misrated 2/- as if to G.B, the charge deleted and altered to "8"), blue crayon "20" for the double U.S rate, with red "BERMUDA / A / PAID" c.d.s (P4) and Boston Mass c.d.s (June 21). Torn piece from upper left corner, nevertheless very scarce, just thirteen examples of this Paid type P4 datestamp recorded, several of which are very poor strikes. Ex. Ulrich and Dickgiesser. 1865 Perf 14 mint selection comprising 1d rose red single and strip of three, 2d dull blue, 2d bright blue, 3d orange and 6d dull purple, the 2d dull blue and 6d both with one short perf, otherwise fine. S.G. 1/6, £4,750. (8).

1868 (July 2) Cover from Ireland Island to Kentville, Nova Scotia, with 6d dull purple cancelled by "3" type K1 numeral, "BERMUDA / I / PAID" c.d.s alongside with "CTS / 5" charge mark for internal Nova Scotia postage and red "4" credit to the Bermuda Post Office, backstamped at Halifax and Kentville. Opening tears to upper edge (now glued down), otherwise fine and scarce; virtually all mail to Nova Scotia was addressed to Halifax.

1874-75 Covers to England via New York franked 1d + 6d paying the 7d rate, the first with the 6d dull purple, the second with the 6d dull mauve, the 1874 cover with a few tone spots, otherwise fine, a good pair. (2).

1879-85 Covers paid 4d to England, the first "via Halifax N.S" franked 1d rose-red pair + 2d bright blue tied by Hamilton duplexs; the second "via New York" with 2d pair (trimmed perfs at left) tied by St. Georges duplex. (2).

1880 (July 5) Long cover headed "O.H.M.S" and addressed "To His Honor Colonel Gordon C.R.E, Acting Governor, Mount Langton", franked 1d cancelled by overinked "BERMUDA / R.O / 17" duplex with a second fine strike in the lower left corner, Hamilton backstamp. The enclosed letter from T.M Trott, former R.O Keeper at Harrington Sound and father to the current R.O Keeper, concerns damage to a cherry tree. Very scarce, few examples of this "17" duplex of Harrington Sound recorded. Ex. Ludington.
