Australia, States, */used. A few 100 stamps, virtually all one of a kind, sometimes with subtle distinctions, written up in an old time Exeter album, all housed on quadrille leaves and good material stuffed to the sides, mint and used. Beginning with New South Wales from laureate heads imperf, various QV side profiles and Gothic 5/- and studies thereafter, looking very interesting for the specialist to research with values up to 5/- map OS o/ps. Then Queensland, Chalon heads from the 1860s through to 5/- and then values to the £1, leading to extensive side profiles that would benefit from research, many interesting postmarks here as well. Then South Australia with O.S. o/ps probably the best, through to Tasmania with half a dozen imperfs with 1d, 2d, 4d and 6d, followed by various perfs of the same with a dozen values to 1/-, subsequent different defin types, pictorials and back of the book inc. postally used fiscal 10/- . Then Victoria with full length and many different early types, somewhat complicated with values to 5/-, with well over a 100 to explore - a challenge for the specialist for watermark and shade varieties, postmarks etc, ending with excellent back of the book with 15 postal fiscal/stamp duty types to £10 and postage dues etc. Finally, Western Australia with dozens of swans and the 1872 issues crown cc with wmk reversed, wmk sideways, and wmk sideways inverted, even sideways, inverted, and reversed all in one, etc! Then 1885/93 types, large swan postal fiscals and other back of the book. A fascinating good old time grandad collection, completely uncatalogued with huge potential for discoveries, enjoy in-depth viewing.
