1911-14 Covers (22, six registered) and a postcard all to the Deutsche Asiatische Bank in Calcutta, including items from Bagdad, Tsingtao, Austrian Post Offices in Beirut and Jaffa, German Post Offices in Peking, Hankow, Constantinople (3), Jaffa (3) and Beirut (6), etc. (23).

World War Two, commercial censored covers, mainly Air Mails, in an album, also a complete booklet of 24 Spitfire Fund labels produced by the Constitutional Publishing Co. in London, and two World War One covers. (51).

Mourning Covers. c.1822-2000 Covers and lettersheets mainly from Europe, the very extensive collection with items from Belgium (123, also covers bearing Queen Astrid mourning stamps), France (c.400), Germany (c.430, some royalty related, also covers bearing Hindenburg mourning stamps), Italy (176), Netherlands (106), Sweden (63), Switzerland (c.250), etc., many printed lettersheets containing death notices, some covers from G.B to Europe, also mourning covers from or to Australia (35) including 1930 cover to London with the stamp washed off and boxed "DAMAGED BY FIRE / ON S.S COMORIN". Postmarks. c.1840-1920 G.B and worldwide postmarks in two large albums, all tragically cut to shape and glued into the albums, the first album all G.B arranged by county with rubbers and skeletons throughout, Channel Islands, Scottish Islands, etc.; the second album with worldwide arranged by country including Ireland, British Colonies, China (Dollar Chop, Customs and Postal Service datestamps, and Customs Mail Matter handstamps), also G.B parcel, triangular, exhibition and T.P.O cancels, British and colonial registration labels and explanatory handstamps. An interesting early postmark collection, some potentially useful reference items. (Many 1,000s).

c.1856-1904 QV and KEVII Mint and used collection in two superb leather bound S.G. "Philatelic Albums" with metal locking clasps, one album containing British Africa, the other British North America, West Indies and Falkland Islands, formed with some care and money in about 1904 with nothing removed since. A few faults mainly to earlier issues and the occasional mint stamp adhering to the page, most however very fine with superb colour throughout. Noted are Canada 1857 ½d rose used with large margins and 1858 perforated ½d rose used (faults), 1893 20c vermilion mint, 1897 ½c - $5 Jubilee set of sixteen mint and $2 vertical pair used, 1875 8c registration stamp used; Antigua 1867 1d watermark sideways mint; Falkland Islands 1889 4d mint, 1891 ½d on bisected 1d mint (2) and used on piece, 1898 2/6 and 5/- mint; Grenada 1888 4d on 2/- wide space in original value mint (S.G. 41b); St. Lucia 1883 ½d triangle detached mint; Nyasaland 1898 imperf 1d cheque stamp on cover, 1897-1900 1d - £1 mint; British East Africa with 1895 2r used; Cape triangulars (38) and 1880 3d on 4d dull rose watermark inverted used; Gold Coast 1884 2d bisect on piece (S.G. 13c, £5,000 on cover); Natal "Postage" overprints; Niger Coast 1894 (May) set on cover with Liverpool "PAQUEBOT" handstamp, etc. A good lot with many other useful stamps. West Indies. 1687-1885 Letters and ephemera, including 1687-1781 London Gazette newspapers containing postal notices or other news concerning the West Indies (16), maps (10), 1804 naval order from Admiral James Dacres sent from the "Thames" at Manchinelle Bay ordering the "Tartar" to proceed from St. Domingo to Cuba with civilians seeking protection from assassination by the negros and then proceed to Port Royal, 1805 order from Dacres to the agent for Prisoners of War at Jamaica, 1832 letter from St. Vincent prepaid 2/6½ to Scotland, and 1885 booklet on R.M.S.P Co. routes from Southampton to the West Indies. Also c.1796 entire with "N. York May 31" and "FREE" handstamp. (31).

c.1845-1968 Covers, cards and letters including Boer War cover (21) with registered covers franked by mixed British and Transvaal stamps totalling 2/2½d (11 stamps, octagonal Natal Field Force datestamp of Standerton) or 2/10 (9 stamps, F.P.O B.O c.d.s); 1900 Rhodesia postcard with Durban "PAQUEBOT" (faults); India 1968 O.A.S covers (68, many registered); 1859-74 papers concerning Surgeon A.F Richmond including 1868 orders from Abyssinia (10), records of service (2) and papers regarding his death in Bhutan in 1874 (3), also papers regarding his fathers army service, etc. Mixed condition with some faults, the Richmond family papers not posted. Military Mail. 1900-48 Covers and cards including Boer War with violet boxed "STOPPED BY CENSOR / RETURN TO SENDER", WW1 with P.O.W mail, Australian forces in Egypt, WW2 with an interesting correspondence from Capt. W. Ferguson mainly from West Africa or serving with West African forces in Burma (25), 1944-45 F.P.O cover to a lady in Alexandria (22), etc. (92).

Postal Stationery. Mainly QV Envelopes, postcards, wrappers, lettercards and registration envelopes with British Africa, British West Indies, Canada, Australian States, Seychelles, British Guiana, British Honduras, etc, a few later items, virtually all unused (with the occasional Specimen or used item), mainly different, most extremely fine.
