ARTIST CARDS: Beautiful partly-annotated collection of social commentary cards & portraits by Charles Dana Gibson, mostly British including scarce complete sets of 'Pictorial Comedy' & 'Golf' (with their rare envelopes in fine condition), also Australian scarce 'New Idea' cards published in Melbourne by T Shaw Fitchett x12, the unused cards are generally very fine, the used with some blemishes. [In our opinion, Charles Dana Gibson is one of the most underrated of the comic artists. Always whimsical, sometimes bitingly funny, his observations about fashion, relationships and social mores are still relevant. And he could really draw!]
