1918 two picture postcards from Nagasaki, Japan to USA, each with 4sen franking, different "Censored" handstamps, sent by members of the RRSC, the sender of second card is "Leaving tomorrow (6 Aug 1918) for Vladivostok" (the Russian Railway Service Corps in Russia was a semi military organization of American railway engineers and technicians formed by the Department of State in September 1917 at the request of the Provisional Government of Russia to operate the Trans-Siberian, Chinese Eastern, and Ussuri Railways. The first contingent of 350 men under the command of Colonel George Emerson arrived in Vladivostok on December 14, 1917. Shortly after, they left for Nagasaki, Japan, because of unsettled conditions. In March 1918, the Corps returned to Russia and began its work under the direction of John F. Stevens, Chairman of the Advisory Commission of Railway Experts to Russia and later President of the Interallied Technical Board) (Image)

1918 (28 Aug) YMCA cover (with letter), with Russian 30k franking, canceled by oval "Vladivostok-Tsuruga" Steamship datestamp, addressed to DuBois, PA, sent by a member of RRCS in Vladivostok, opened and resealed by censor, with "Passed by Censor 2001" handstamp, cover roughly opened at right, fine (until 25 September, 1918, the only postal service available to the RRSC personnel was the Russian Post Office. Even after the US Postal Agency Siberia opened, the local inflation rate, made the Russian postage a bargain) (Image)

1919 (23 May) War Department, Official Business, legal size envelope, registered to New York, franked with 10c Franklin (straight edge at right), tied by U.S. Postal Agency Siberia "M.O.B." double circle departure pmk (repeated on back), Registered box showing chipped lower left corner, ascribed to Vladivostok, with self-censored "A.E.F. Siberia Censored" handstamp, signed by Lt. N.C. Streit (the sender), backstamped on arrival (June 25), some cover mending, otherwise fine. This is the only recorded Registered cover from Vladivostok with "M.O.B." datestamp (in this case, the postal clerk used the Money Order handstamp instead of the registry datestamp) (Image)
