1914 Exhibit of 26 covers or cards neatly laid out and written-up on pages, showing wide variety of postal markings used during the U. S. intervention in Vera Cruz, Mexico, as well as the various stamps that were used to pay the postage on this mail. Some of these markings were widely used and some are very elusive by any standard. Where possible, the earliest and latest dates that have been recorded are designated. The exhibit commences with "Trigger for Intervention", followed by Forerunner of American Administration of Post Office, Mexican Markings Official Mail, "Flag" machine marking, Steel and rubber duplex markings, use of Fractional Mexican Postage, Registered Mail, including Earliest Recorded example of "AR" markings, Special Service and other markings, also "Tampico" proof strikes on Mexican stationery entire envelopes (canceled October 31, 1914), mixed condition, splendid historical presentation, with some extraordinary usages (Image)
