1895 $1 black, Type II, two singles and a horizontal pair, used together with 2x5c chocolate on large registered cover from New York, Apr 22, 1896 to "Zurcherisch-Amerikansiche Trust Gesellschaft" in Zurich, endorsed "S.S. Augusta Victoria", showing Registry Station datestamp, with corresponding label, reverse with similar markings, sent by the Swiss Consul, 1.V.96 Zurich arrival. Stamps are reasonably well centered, couple of shorter perfs noted, tied by oval New York Registry pmks, cover folded between stamps, wax seal removed from back, overall an extraordinary cover to Switzerland paying $4.10 with four $1 Type II Commodore Perry stamps (Cat No. 276A) (Image)
