1898-1902 Military Postal Stations in the Philippines, collection of 23 covers and cards, written-up on 16 pages, presented in numerical and alphabetical order (for the unnumbered stations). The initial marking for registered mail from the Islands, was "Philippine Sta. San Francisco, Cal./Registered", represented by a postcard from Camp Dewey on Manila Bay (Aug 10,1898, earliest recorded), Sep 17, 1898 registered cover from Cavite, franked with 1c, 2c, 5c and 10c Bureau issues, sent to Genova, Italy, with French "Paq.Fr.No.1 Ligne N" maritime mark, Military Sta.No.1 markings on Registered covers to Albany, another to Paris, with 8c Trans-Mississippi franking, 1901 Registered cover with overprinted adhesives to Germany, Mil.Sta. No.2 Cavite, No.3 Ilolo, P.I. (two-line handstamp), No.4 Phil.Isls, Cebu, one to Spain, another to Singapore, No.5, Bacolod, P.I. to Spain (one of only four examples of the 4-line marking recorded), Mil.Sta.Aparri, Mil.Sta.Bongao (located in the Sulu Archipelago, this garrison did not have a registry marking, the lettered transited Jolo), Mil.Sta. San Fernando, Mil.Sta.Vigan, two registered covers to the United States.
