A spectacular insect topical collection in over two hundred 3-ring binders and a few thousand cellophane window envelopes housed in 33 cartons. The majority are NH complete sets or souvenir sheets emphasized by more contemporary issues. Also, includes some used, usually with commemorative cancels or First Days, plus mint or used stationery, proofs, specimens, blocks, gutters and full sheets, Scott listed or unlisted. The collection had an enormous original cost, not to mention the cost of all the binders and thousands of black stock sheets. Seems to be organized alphabetically by country but, has gotten somewhat mixed up. Some duplication is mainly due to the various formats. This was lovingly put together by a renowned entomologist over many years. The photos are not necessarily to show the best items but to illustrate the enormity. A philatelic tribute to Princess Diana. Several hundred mint stamps and souvenir sheets mounted on over 180 quadrilled pages, accompanied by a detailed inventory. We noticed some spotting or toning on the quadrilled pages from storage in a humid climate, but the stamps appear to be spared any damage. Nice, clean overview of the happy days of Princess Diana’s life, with an emphasis on her twenty-first birthday and her wedding to Prince Charles. All in all, material having a respectable catalog value offered at a substantial reduced price.. (Image)
