Samoa 1840-50s group of missionary mail with 1842 (10 May) entire to London with crisp red Paid Ship Letter Sydney date stamp of Aug 3 and doceted as arrived on Jan 7 43, 1850 entire following same route with a less clear Sydney date stamp, plus 1845 incoming entire to Upolu from Glasgow, black Sydney ship letter transit date stamp and carried privately to the island. also with two late 1850s entires without markings, one from Henry Nisbet to his wife, written at Palauli to mission at Safotutafai, the other from his son at school in Newtown, NSW, Australia, both carried by favour. A finely presented, written-up collection with State I 1d., 3d. and 6d. with manuscript cancels as used before the arrival of cancelling devices, the 1d with small stain, each with an obligatory straight edge, also with further 1d , 3d. and 6d unused or used (Fiji straburst on 6d), State II values unused or used including 9 of the 10 positions used, 1/- (8 including unused block of four, pos 4-5/ 9-10) and two used 5/-, State III including 1d complete sheet of 20 mint, 2/- perf 12.5 used positions 1/1 and 1/2 and 5/- perf 12.5 used position 2/4. Samoa 1910-20s New Zealand overprinted Postal Fiscals with set of seven hinged mint including £2 that was only ever used for fiscal purposes, used values sorted into the three issues nearly all used except SG 128 and 129, also with 1918 registered censored cover bearing 5/- and 2d yellow, good to fine condition.
