We note an 1860 incoming cover addressed to St Thomas, mailed from the Royal Danish Consulate (with their seal on back) on Lombard Street in London, two covers each franked with a single Scott #15 (c.v. $275 each on cover), four covers franked with #18a (bisect, $67 each), two covers to the United States, each franked with #28 ($175 each), a double weight cover franked with #43 and 45 ($147 on cover) as well as other items, incl. stationery cards and picture postcards (mostly showing local scenes) mailed to Canada, France, England, South Africa, Denmark, etc. Overall fine to very fine, all items shown online. Valuable Collection of Danish West Indies Postal History, 1880 to 1917, with 42 covers / cards all neatly displayed and annotated on quadrille in a like-new Elbe album with slipcase. We note a great selection of frankings, both single and combinations paying different rates such as postcard, printed matter, double weight, foreign, registered, and more. Also a good selection of destination countries as well as incoming mail from various places. A clean and mostly very fine quality collection, all of which is scanned online. This collection was mailed on approval to the current owner in the year 2000, and the dealer included a detailed inventory of each item and prices he was asking at the time, which totals U$6,595 with items priced between U$30 and $450. Interesting Group of Roughly 225 France Covers and Cards, Stampless to the 1990s, containing 30 stampless covers, ranging from 1789 to the 1870s, appearing to be mostly domestic rates, and a variety of postmarks (including a few straightline and c.d.s cancels), along with roughly 35 covers from the 1860s to 1870s, mostly solo frankings of either Scott #s 15, 33, or 58. Exhibit of International Post Card Rates of Inflation Era Germany, September to December, 1923, containing 30 postcards (all franked with inflation era stamps), organized chronologically on 16 pages, housed in a binder. The first page is a well described title page outlining the 10 different rate periods from the fall and winter months of 1923. The following pages show generally 2 to 4 examples from nine different rate periods (missing November 20th to 25th), including the difficult to acquire November 1 to 4 rate period (November 1 was a holiday, and November 4 was a Sunday). We encountered at least 15 different destinations, mostly to Europe, but other interesting ones including Haiti, Japan, China, and Sicily as examples, along with a few first day, and last day of rate post cards.
