Portugal and Colonies Mint and Used Collection in 3 Stockbooks, to about 1966. This collection is packed with interesting items from the very beginning. Within this large collection, we noted Scott #s 1 (c.v. $850, heavy cancel), 3 used (c.v. $875), 4 used ($1,900). Also mint never hinged souvenir sheets 614a (c.v. $225) and 620a (c.v. $155), mint hinged 662-9 (c.v. $134), as well as two sets of 747-8, one is mnh (c.v. $297), the other is hinged (c.v. $140). The colonies section includes items from all colonies. We noted the long Angola birds set 333-356 (c.v. $225, gum faults, and 5 highest values are no gum) and the mint Nyassa set 44-6 (c.v. $157) among many interesting items, usually in complete sets. Faults noted in the earlier material, otherwise very fine. (Image)

Includes a large selection of the various Independence and Cérès issues as well as the early Azores and of the colonial issues. Faults noted in the early Portugal issues, otherwise very fine.
