1884-1935 comprehensive mint collection on stock pages with Lagos incl. 1884 4d (toned gum) and 1887 to 10/- (10/- toned gum), then the later issues with 1904 sets to 5/- and to 10/-, Niger Coast with 1892 set, 1893 1/2d on 2 1/2d SG 33 (BPA Cert, hinge remainder), 1894 sets to 1/- and 1897 to 10/- with numerous perf types. Northern Nigeria has the 1900 set to 10/-, 1902 to 10/- (toned gum), 1905 and 1910 sets with 1912 to £1, with Southern Nigeria incl. 1901 to 10/-, 1903 to £1, 1904 to 10/-, 1907 to £1, 1912 to 5/- plus £1. Note: With submarine cable heads only at Lagos, Brass and Bonny, the quickest way of getting a cable to a mail steamer was to post the cable message in a cover to "The African Direct Telegraph Office" at the next cable head, at "Brass or Lagos", one or the other being deleted in the address before despatch according to whether the vessel was on its outward or return voyage.
