1878 Entire quite likely from Morocco, written in Arabic and disinfected in Gibraltar (during the period when mail arriving into Gibraltar from Morocco was being disinfected), with GB 1873-80 2 1/2d pl.10 tied by Gibraltar Sep 23 duplex, with St-Jean de Luz entry adjacent, reverse with Madrid transit and Marseille arrival, fine. 1927 "Essays for Overprint - Tangier" archive page from the Stamp Department Printing Branch (with cachet dated 20 JAN 1927), with two examples of four different "TANGIER" overprint essays, showing different sizes and fonts, with pencil notation below saying only four stamp exist, so only two other sets possible (which have previously been carefully removed from this page), including the original accompanying official letter from the Administrator Ricardo Ruiz, a superb showpiece of the Morocco Agencies.
