1887-1889 1 cent overprint on 2 cents pale rose, variety surcharge doubled, with full and brilliant original gum and very tiny trace of a hinge remnant (SG £1300); a superb stamp in very fresh condition and a bright rose colour that varies somewhat from the pale rose listed in SG; with certificate BPA 2003. 1904-10 $100 purple & green on yellow mint l.h. top right corner marginal (margins reduced), vibrant colour and freshness, a superb example of this Malaysian rarity; cert. A. Diena (1974), E. Diena (1988) and Holcombe (1989, who states "a very fine copy of a rare stamp") who have all signed the reverse (S.G. £22'000). (Image)

1921-33 Script CA $25 purple and blue on blue, used vertical block of ten tied on parcel fragment by SINGAPORE/24.JA.35 cds, some usual small perf. defects expected on such a large block, possibly the largest used multiple, exhibition showpiece. Note: "The backing paper appears to be from an airmail envelope with a remnant of a Chinese newspaper, possibly used as wrapper. “Clubbed mail” was common practice in those days with a lot of Chinese working abroad. The post office later banned this practice since it was cheating revenue; instead of posting several letters, letters were sent to an agency for distribution." (Image)
