ADEN: 1880 Eastern Telegraph Co red/buff 'TELEGRAM' envelope sealed with several strikes of the oval 'EASTERN/ADEN/TELEGRAPH CO' cachet, to Réunion with India 1a brown block of 7 (4x2, less the first unit) tied by very fine 'ADEN/AUG 3 - B' duplex (Proud KD10) on reverse, largely very fine strike of the boxed 'REGISTERED/ADEN/N AUG: 3' h/s (Proud R4: ERD by 4 years), 'LIGNE T/8/AOUT/80/....No 1' transit cds on the face. ADEN: 1889 Eastern Telegraph Co red/buff 'TELEGRAM' envelope, to Réunion with India 2a ultramarine & 3a brown-orange tied by two superb strikes of the 'B'-in-Bars h/s (Proud K13) on reverse, equally fine strikes of the 'R'-in-circle and 19½mm 'ADEN/REG/OC29/89' cds (Proud R5 & 6), very fine 'LIGNE T/11/NOV/89/PAQ FR No 3' transit cds in red on the face, repaired flap-tear. ADEN: WWI undated native cover with very fine strikes on both sides of the rare triangular Ottoman cachet used at Lahej in rosine, minor blemishes & opened a little roughly at right. See Passer at Plate 76. [The Sultanate of Lahej included the area of Aden-proper. In July 1915, Lahej was attacked by Ottoman troops from Yemen & occupied for the duration of the War. No similar example was located in the Aden collections formed by Ed Druce, Jerone Hart or Gary Brown]

SHARJAH: 1942 (July & Nov) OAS covers (with contents) to London with 'RAF/CENSOR/386' or '.../252' in violet; 1945 inwards covers to "44 Staging Post/PAIFORCE" from GB (3, one a 6d Aerogramme) and Palestine; and 1945 much-travelled cover from GB endorsed "44SP" & with at least three redirection labels, the last with rare 'No 44 Staging Post/RAF Paiforce/...' h/s in violet (and a similar 1946 usage of GB 1½d Forces Aerogramme that may or may not have visited Sharjah), condition rather mixed.
