The following lots, from 60000 to 60105, are from an 1840-1936 mint collection for foreign countries in two printed New Ideal albums, broken down into 106 individual collections. This magnificent collection, comprising tens of thousands of stamps, is the product of over 60 years of diligent and discerning collecting and is one of the finest assemblies of foreign countries we have been chosen to offer. We note a great deal of completion throughout with the majority fine to very fine. The stamps are hinged on the pages with, in some cases, additional examples added, plus some blocks, pairs and minor varieties to add further scope. As is to be expected with an assembly of this magnitude, there are some minor defects, reprints and some possible forgeries. We offer the collection as the following 106 lots, offered intact with no stamps removed, broken down into one country collections, or grouped together by region as appropriate. Afghanistan: 1870-1934 with a few earlier types and attractive 1926-34 issues, a useful little range from this interesting and seldom offered area.

Albania: 1913-39 strong collection from this unusual and seldom offered area with some early issues, 1919 handstamps, 'Besa' and 1920 'Eagle' o/pts, with Airs including the scarce 1929 set (Diena Cert), Dues, unissued items etc. A lovely lot.

Andorra: Andorra: 1928-36 Spanish issues complete, then 1931-36 French, including 1931 to 20f, 1932 to 20f plus Dues etc.

Austria: 1858-1936 with a few earlier issues (1867 etc) then a solid range from 1902 including the 1904 set, then pretty much complete, including therefore Franz Josef to 10k plus the Birthday sets, 1931 Rotary, 1933 FIS, 1933 WIPA (ordinary and granite), Dolffus etc. Also an attractive range of the Occupation of Serbia, Army Post issues (including some imperf colour trials) etc. Lovely lot, very high catalogue. Baltic States: substantial ranges from each territory, Estonia including the 1923 100m and 300m plus Air pairs, 1928 and 1936 sets, with Lithuania including 1922 surcharges, 1923 set, 1924 and 1926 War Orphans, 1926 Invalid Fund, 1930 and 1932-3 sets. Latvia includes the 1930-2 Airs and Charity sets mostly perf and imperf, the da Vinci set (perf), 1933 Airmen perf and imperf and the scarce 1933 Riga-Bathurst set imperf. Also some Central Lithuania and an attractive range from Memel. Lovely lot. (Image)

Belgium: 1863-1936 with a few early issues then strong coverage from 1893 to 5f onwards, including 1905 set, the 1910-11 Charities, 1915 including 'Franken', 1918 Red Cross, 1919 King Albert, 1932 Mercier, 1933 Orval and the Charity sets etc. Eupen and Malmedy also, a lovely (and very highly catalogued) collection. Belgian Congo: 1885-1936 a useful range with 1894 to 5f and 1910 set, also 100 or so from Ruanda-Urundi, attractive material.

Bosnia: 1879-1918 with the early 'Arms' and 1906 issues, 1912 to 10k, 1916-17 issues, imperfs, Dues etc (high catalogue) etc. Also a nice little batch from Montenegro (noted the 5 types of the 1905 Dues) and fairly extensive Serbia. Useful material from these seldom offered areas.

Bulgaria: 1879-1936 with a fine range of the early 'Arms' issues including 1879 5c (2 shades) and 10c, also 1881 10s, 1884 surcharges, then later with the Games sets etc. Strong and highly catalogued Dues also, a fine collection. (Image)

Central America: decent ranges from Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico, also Honduras and Salvador, typically with some earlier issues, then plenty of later definitives, o/pts, sets, Airs etc. Plenty to work through here, popular material (not easy to come by).

China: with 1878-83 1c green (2), 1885 'Small Dragons' 1c (2), 3c (2) and 5c, surcharges with 10c on 12c and 30c on 24c, also 10c on 9c and 10c on 12c. Also noted, 1898-1900 $5 and 1913-15 $5, 1912 Sun Yat-sen set to $1, 1921 and 1929 Airs, 1932 Expedition set etc. A useful lot. (Image)

China: Italian POs including 1917 2c on 5c green, 1918 to 5L and 1/2c on 1c brown, Tientsin 1917 6c on 15c inverted (scarce), also Chinese POs in Yunan, Turkestan etc, a few USA Shanghai ovpts and Tibet, attractive Russian POs. Also range of 24 Japanese POs, including 1913 to 20s plus 1y. Useful, popular material. (Image)

China: Useful little ranges of 110 or so from Shanghai and, 42 from Manchukuo.

Colombia: with some early imperf types and useful ranges of later issues, then (significantly), the scarce 1935 Olympic set to 10p. Also little groups from Antioquia, Bolivar, Boyaca and Tolima, with a few also from Cucuta, Santander etc (these departmental issues are particularly hard to come by). (Image)

Crete: with some 1898-99 GB and Russian issues, 1900 with red and black o/pts, 1905 set (ex 50L), a range of o/pts to 5d etc. Also Post Offices with Austrian, French (1902 set to 5f and 1903 to 20pi on 5f) and Italian. Useful lot, unusual material. (Image)

Cuba: with some early 1856-75 issues, then 1875-81 'dated' types, 'Alfonso' issues to 80c etc, scarce US Admin 30c on 3m, 5c on 3m and 3c on 2m blue green and later issues. Attractive Puerto Rico also, similarly with earlier issues, 'Alfonso' types to 80c etc, 1898 to 2p, 1898 h/stamps, 1899 o/pt (on USA) set etc. Useful material. (Image)

Czechoslovakia: 1918-36 with 1918 10h and 20h, 1919 o/pts, Airs, the 1925/6 o/pt sets, 'back of book' issues etc.

Denmark: 1853-1936 with a few early types (various to 100 ore etc), then noted 1904 and 1907 sets, 1915 GPO, 1925 Airs, useful Newspaper stamps, Officials, Dues etc. Also an attractive range of Danish West Indies. (Image)

Dominican Republic: attractive range of around 275 stamps, with some early types, 1888-1901 issues, 1904-05 o/pts and many later, also 140 or so from Haiti, the other part of the island of Hispaniola.

Ethiopia: 1894-1936 with 1894 set, 1903-7 and 1917 o/pts, then attractive ranges of 1928-30 Airs and o/pts, a useful lot from this seldom offered territory.

Finland: a few earlier issues include 5k blue and 5p mauve roulette plus some 'Arms' types (noted 1891 3p.50 with cert. plus 7r), later with 1930 Zeppelin o/pt, also the Karelia set to 25m, North Ingermanland, etc. (Image)

France: 1859-93 useful range including 1859 to 80c, 1870 1c and 30c, 1877 25c to 1f (both 75c shades), 1878 to 25c black and red (scarce), 1881 to 1f (both 35c shades) and 1884 Dues to 1f, etc. (S.G. £3'400). (Image)
