POSTAL HISTORY: Interesting group of mostly entires with four 16th century Corsini letters to Florence, the earliest apparently of 1506 with guild mark of Cupponi of Pisa & another with guild mark of Bandini of Rome; a few to Livorno including 1675 & 1688 both fumigated; Corradi Correspondence with two 1790 entires from Austria both apparently fumigated & with boxed 'MILAN/ F ' h/s in red or black, 1818 local letter Genoa-Porto Maurizio oddly endorsed "Porto paqueto", 1836 from 'SESTRI/PONENTE' & 1841 from 'GENOVA' both with 'PORTO MAURIZIO' arrival b/s, 1840 from Toulouse with 'VIA DI NIZZA' (= via Nice) & 'T.S = Imprimes' handstamps, and 1850 partly-printed & illustrated lettersheet from Nice with 'D[...] LA/PARTENZA' h/s; and 1860 stampless outer to Genoa with superb 'TORINO/1/NOVE/60/ 3½ ' cds; the fumigated items with characteristic staining otherwise fine to very fine.

POSTAL HISTORY: Mostly pre-WWII registered civilian or official mail many with multi-colour or mixed-issue frankings, includes 1936 (Nov 7) Foreign Affairs Ministry registered airmail cover to the Italian Legation in Uruguay German Zeppelin cachet in rosine, a few also with Express stamps & several with 'AR' or 'RR' markings, a few with 1944 Socialist Republic or 'P.M.' Overprints & a couple of very scarce registered postcards, postmark interest including TPOs & 1929 from San Giovanni Lupatoto with date-only dumb cancels, generally fine to very fine. A very interesting lot.
