1915 (Nov 22) Cover from G.B to a British soldier in the 2nd Dorset Regt franked 1d, returned to the sender nine months later with violet "UNDELIVERED THROUGH / CAPITULATION AT KUT". Air Mails. 1922-39 Covers written up on 23 pages including 1922-23 9d rate cover from G.B flown by R.A.F from Cairo to Baghdad, 1923-24 flown covers from Iraq (2) or Egypt, covers to R.A.F personnel sent by surface mail, 1925 covers from G.B franked 4½d sent by air or overland mail, 1926 Egypt cover flown to Baghdad with red "Dead Letter Office, Baghdad" label, later covers flown by Imperial Airways, 1930 G.B cover franked 6½d to India transferred to overland mail, covers to R.A.F in Iraq including 1934-35 covers from G.B or Cyprus to Ft/Lt F.R.D Swain who established a world altitude record in 1936, mail flown by KLM, etc. (26).

Air Mails. 1926 (Sep 27) Cover to England with five Iraq stamps cancelled by three strikes of boxed "BY AIR / Iraq to Great Britain / with Alan Cobham" and two Baghdad datestamps, arrival backstamp (Oct 2), vertical fold, otherwise fine. 110 Covers flown by Cobham on the Baghdad to London leg of his return flight from Australia.

1941 (Jan 26) Printed "NAIRN TRANSPORT CO LTD / OVERLAND / DESERT MAIL / HAIFA - BEYROUTH - DAMASCUS - BAGHDAD" envelope sent from Baghdad to USA, 22 stamps paying the 720fils rate for overland mail to Egypt, Imperial Airways to Singapore and then Pan Am across the Pacific, circular violet "A" and "I" and a boxed censor cachet all applied in Singapore. Very unusual.
