1937-43 KGVI 5 rupee watermarked paper (128mm x 72mm) '5/[king]/RESERVE/BANK/OF/INDIA/5', EF.  Most likely retrieved from the wreck of the S.S. Breda by divers in 1992. Laying off the coast of Oban, being part of a convey being assembled bound for Bombay & carrying a mixed cargo including pallets of banknote paper, the Breda was bombed by a group of Heinkel HE 111 on 23rd December 1940. She was taken under tow and beached in Ardmucknish Bay; the next day a storm swept her into deeper water where she sank. (Image1)

FEUDATORY STATES - DUTTIA: Group unused without gum as issued and with Control Handstamp in Blue including 1897-98 Thin Paper ½a (value in one word), 1a, 2a black/yellow & Pelure Paper 2a black/lemon and 4a, 1899-1906 Coloured Roulette ¼a brownish-red complete sheet of 16 (8x2) plus blocks of 6, 8 & 9 and ¼a pale rose part-sheet of 12 (6x2), ½a black/bright emerald Pelure Paper block of 6 (3x2), 1916 Imperforate ½a green complete sheet of 32 (8x4), also a couple of forgeries, some multiples with light folds between units, condition a little variable but most are fine to very fine, Cat £1500+.  (140+ stamps) (Image1)

Stated to be ex Sefi-Pemberton. ISES Certificate (2024). The George S Harell example - also just touching at right - sold in 2013 for £1680 (when catalogued at £2000). (Image1)
