BAHAWALPUR: 1943 black/buff 'Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department/DEFENCE SAVING/CARD' completed (10r value) with 'SAVE FOR/INDIA'S/DEFENCE' stamps on Pink Paper 4a carmine x2, 8a ultramarine x3 & 1r violet x8 including a pair all tied by 'KHANPUR/ TEL /BAHAWALPUR' telegraphs cds, the card endorsed "Cancelled" in red, small spike-hole & corner damage both well clear of the stamps. [Usage in Bahawalpur must be rare. Text on the face states these were the only denominations issued]
BAHAWALPUR - POSTAL HISTORY: 1947 (Sep 25) commercial cover to "Sukhar/Sind" with India ½a tied by boxed '.../BAGHDAD-UL-JADID' & horseshoe 'BAGHDAD-UL-JADID/DUE/("2") AS' h/s, 'SUKKUR/ 27SEP47/UNPAID' -in-octagon arrival b/s, roughly opened with repaired opening tear across the flap & at U/L. With the enclosed mercantile letter.

BAHAWALPUR - POSTAL HISTORY: 1949 commercial cover endorsed "Registered, Acknowledgement Due", to Karachi with scarce combination franking of 'PAKISTAN' Overprints Nasik ½a x5 (two on the reverse) & Hybrid (Karachi Overprints from Lahore Plates) 1a3p block of 4 all cancelled with light but largely-legible 'BAGHDAD- UL-JADID/11MY49' cds, straight-line h/s on locally produced R label, 'KARACHI/REG/12MY49/ A ' arrival b/s, light vertical fold & minor soiling. A rare Avis de Réception ('AR') cover. Ex Wilson Wong.
GWALIOR: c.1940s (?) die proof for 1a revenue (?) issue - frame only - in blue on thin wove paper, watery handstamp ".../colours sent/..." in blue. Unusual.
