1908 (20 May) LANDING STAGE / LIVERPOOL / * cds on EDVII 1s green and carmine with large part of the cancel showing LANDING STAGE postmark type M18 (TPO & Seapost reference),. The floating stage was constructed in 1879 until 1955 and allowed large transatlantic liners from America mooring directly on the landing stage where a post office was setup on the pier to cancel mail received at the last moment for posting on the last mail ship to leave.
