Marangu (1) PO 29.6.1895; closed -4.1898; Marangu (2) -.5.1900; closed 18.5.1901. Rare usage at Marangu (2). MARSHALL ISLANDS: 'Marschall-Inseln' Overprint on 10pf Gruss aus Jaluit Postal Card, superb unused; and circa 1905 commercial cover front to "Vorarlberg Tirol" with Yacht 10pf & 20pf tied by light but discernible 'NAURU' cds, red & black/white R label, tape stains. R label, 'DRESDEN/5.9.11/...' arrival backstamp, forwarded to Stresa (Italy) via Milan and then to "Miramare/Palazzo Imperiale Reale" ( = Miramare Imperial & Royal Palace) with light but clear Austrian-pattern 'HOFPOSTAMT MIRAMAR/10/9/11' arrival backstamp, minor creasing from the bulky contents. Miramare Palace, situated 14km SE of Trieste, was built for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian, later the ill-fated Emperor of Mexico.
