1901 'Vineta' Provisional Bisect '3PF' violet h/s on right half of Reichspost 5pf. VFU, tied to piece by 'Kais Deutsche Marine Schiffspost no1 12.5.01' cds (lifted for examination). Provisional produced due to shortage of 3pf stamps on the cruiser 'Vineta' which was visiting American ports, & the crew wanted to post US newspapers reporting the Kaiser's birthday on the 3pf printed matter rate.
