Germany, 1914-24, a collection of Notgeld (Emergency Money Post WWI), housed in a well worn album with 60 pages of approximately 25 per page for a total of about 1500 notes most of which are unique but some duplication; many are in excellent condition. The Notgeld Collection contains monetary notes issued in Germany as emergency currency between 1914 and 1924, with the bulk of items issued between 1918 and 1922. These notes are arranged alphabetically by the municipality in which they were issued. Most notes are printed on paper, with a small number (chiefly issued in Bielefeld) on silk or linen. Most notes have an expiry date printed on them. Dealer marked retail is $5000; a few pages are imaged here to give a flavor of the lot. Suggested Bid $1,500-2,000 (Image)
