French Offices in China, French Military Forces in China, 1901-03. Group of 6 covers from the 1901-1903 "Corps Expeditionaire du Chine" or "Corps d'Occupation du China", the French military forces in China, several with Marine Francais Anchor cachet, one in magenta, all have smaller "Corr D'Armees Shang Hai" or "tresor et Postes Armees 2 China" markings, one with Han-Keou China marking, various markings and back stamps, one on lovely red and green floral cover, F.-V.F. or better, quite scarce group.

France, 1949 Lafayette "STIF" essay in black and blue, perforated. Type I, 5 horizontal strips of 10, two with top sheet margins, traces of o.g., some minor selvage flaws, otherwise Very Fine.

This stamp essay was manufactured by printers Lambert-Marioni as an example of their work and presented to the French Government for their approval. The vignette was engraved by Jules Piel based on an original engraving by Duplessis. The letters "STIF" at bottom stand for Services Techniques des Impressions Fiduciaires.
