Includes 28 Dec. 1849 env Cognac to Paris franked with fine 4 margin 20c black 'Ceres' (SG 1) tied by grille cancel and 30 Jul. 1861 env. Thion to Terrason, Dordogne franked with fine pair of 1853 10c bistre 'Napoleon' with small dot (petits chiffres) lozenge cancel; trio of 1855-57 stampless envs., one with Montmartre mayoral frank; c. 15 fine internal covers with mostly Ceres or Napoleon 20c frankings. ZINC SPHERE/MOULINS ALLIER MAIL TO PARIS; V.Rare 7 Jan. 1871 EL (consistent stains) to Paris franked 80c + 20c tied by '549' lozenge cancels of Boulogne-sur-Mer and representing the 1F rate for mail carried within a zinc ball for distribution in the River Seine which arrived in Paris on 18 Feb.
