Strasbourg. 1704-1962 Entire letters, covers and cards, various Strasbourg handstamps including 1704 manuscript "De Strasbourg", "1766 STRASB", 1782-85 "STRASBOURG", "67 STRASBOURG" (6, four types), also T.P.O datestamps, 1810 entire letter to Strasbourg with red "No.36 / ARM. D'ALLEMAGNE", etc. (47).

Strasbourg - Entry Handstamps. 1811-69 Entire letters with various Strasbourg entry handstamps for letters from Germany, Prussia, Baden, Bavaria, Thurn & Taxis or Switzerland, boxed, unboxed and c.d.s types, some well written up on pages. (39)

Army of Dalmatia. 1806 (Nov 1) Entire letter from Zara to Montpelier with red "BAU / GAL / ARM. DE DALMATIE", fine and scarce.

Paris Pneumatic Post. 1880-1949 Postal stationery, postcards, envelopes, lettercards and a Money Order form, unused (12) or used (11), also 1907 privately produced envelope used with 5c + 25c stamps. (24).

1899-71 Mint and used selection on pages, many bought from Harmers, Plumridges and Robson Lowe in the 1950s-1970s, very mixed quality but including some fine stamps, with four margin examples of 1849-52 10c (2), 1853-61 1c, 5c, 1870-71 Bordeaux issue 2c, 4c, 5c, 20c pale blue (S.G. 165, 1986 Fourcant Certificate), 1871-78 30c and 60c blue postage dues all used, 1849-52 20c mint and 1f carmine on thick paper unused without gum (ex Harmers 1966, possibly a proof?, offered as-is), 1870 15c postage due mint, also 1863-70 1c block of four mint, 1871 perf 14x13½ 5c and 1870 Paris issue 10c pair both used (S.G. 134/5), 1871-76 type B 30c single + pair mint, etc, and a few covers. Hospital Ships. 1915-18 Covers and cards with cachets of the "Duguay Trouin" (3, one with "HOPITAL CHIRURGICAL FLOTTANT / DU C.E.O" cancelling a Greek 10L stamp, also two unused cards of the ship), "Divona", "Canada", "Espagne", "Sphinx" or "Ile-de-France"; also a complete French Red Cross Society booklet "Expedition Des Dardanelles" with a coloured illustration of the "Charles-Roux" on the front, containing twenty Red Cross labels sold for 1f; and a cover to the "Charles-Roux" at Mudros with "SALONIQUE" cachet. Alsace Lorraine. 1870-71 Mint and used selection including net upwards 1c and 2c fine used, 25c mint, net downwards 1c mint, also front to England with 10c + 20c cancelled by German Feldpost datestamps, etc., some faults. (40).

Post Offices in China. 1894-1919 Mint and used collection of French and Indo-Chinese offices in China, including French P.O 1902-06 set mint (40c used), 1911-21 set mint, Indo-China P.O 1904-05 1c - 10f mint (no 4c, 1f), issues for Hoihow with 1908 5f, 10f mint, Mengtsz, Canton, Pakhoi, Chungking, Yunnanfu, etc., a useful lot. French Colonies. c.1852-1977 Mint and used collections of New Caledonia and St Pierre et Miquelon in two stockbooks with better early surcharges and overprints, also various colonies on stockcards with useful Gabon, French Polynesia, etc. (100s).

Martinique. 1735-1866 Entire letters and entires to France with French entry handstamps of Bordeaux (7), La Flotte (1735 letter), Le Havre (5), Marseille (3) or Nantes (4), also straight line "LA MARTINIQUE" or "MARTINIQUE" (14, two types), St. Pierre c.d.s (8), etc. (28).

Martinique - First British Occupation. 1762 (Feb 3) Entire letter from a British Office, Alexander Farquharson, headed from "Camp on the Island of Martinique", to his father in Scotland. Probably carried to England on H.M.S "Nightingale", posted from London with "25/MR" Bishop Mark, charged 1/7. The good letter includes "we drove the enemy from all their batteries on this side of the island and are just now besieging Fort Royal which we expect to be masters of in a few days. Capt Murray received a dangerous wound in the attack of 24 January ..... Capt. McKinnon received a slight wound in the head but is in no danger. Poor Rollo son to Ld Rollo died here of a fever". The British first occupied Martinique in 1762, the Fort Royal garrison surrendering to General Monckton on 4th February; the island was returned to France in 1763. A very scarce campaign letter.

1930 (Jan.) Paris to Pondicherry flight by Weiss and Garier, covers franked 5f75 or 6f50 (2), two registered, flown from France to Calcutta or Pondicherry (2), one of these redirected to Tientsin and again to Saigon. (3).

1933-39 Air Mail covers from Pondicherry to France all bearing India stamps, mainly KGV issues, one with 1929 Air 3a + 4a (2), two registered, one underpaid and charged 50c postage due, various rates. (9).

1938-54 Air Mail covers from Pondicherry (10) or Karikal all bearing India stamps, to Indo China (3), Djibouti, Madagascar, G.B (3), Sweden or Switzerland, four registered, various rates, also a cover to France from Pondicherry but posted in India, most with KGVI stamps, four prewar. (11).

1940-46 Air Mail covers, one 1940 cover from a soldier franked 1r2f16ca, four others bearing "France Libre" overprint issues, to France (4) or Djibouti, uncommon issues on cover. (5).

1945-54 Air Mail covers bearing various French India stamps, from Pondicherry (33) or Chandernagore to France, USA or Indo-China, some philatelic, stamps include 1947 Air set (2 sets), 1949 U.P.U 6fa (7), etc. Also a 1944 cover from French Congo to Pondicherry. (35).
