1849-52 Ceres 40c orange with Major Retouch (Larger '4' at Left) Maury 9j (SG 20) [Pos 146], good even margins, a few thins that don't detract from the very fine facial appearance, very fine 'DS2'-in-diamond-of-dots cancel well clear of the retouch, Cat €6100 (£8500). Ceres Philatelie Certificate (2023) as Yvert 5d states "aminci mais rare" (= thinned but rare) and "Elle était sans réparation ni truquage lors de la vente" (= it was without repair or fiddling [!] when sold).
