THE EARLIEST DOCUMENTED USE OF THE 10¢ FRAME LINE.

Scott 10 has frameline around each stamp that were engraved on the plate and served as a guide for the siderographer when aligning the transfer roll to make the plate. There are two examples of the April 19, 1863 EDU, the cover offered here and an off-cover stamp solidifying this early date.
